Mental Health Matters
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, research shows that mental illnesses are common in the United States, affecting tens of millions of people each year. Estimates suggest that only half of the people with mental illnesses receive treatment. So, if you are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, burnout, or any other challenge or adjustment, you are not alone. There is help for you, there are resources and people who care here at NMSU.
We, in the Communication Studies Department, care about you and so we put together some resources on different topics that can help you learn more and find resources that may help you. Also, as an NMSU student, the Counseling Center is here to help you for free! To inquire about receiving counseling services you can contact the Aggie Health and Wellness Center and speak with an on-call counselor at 575-646-1512 Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.
Additionally, we have information on this page that can help you find out more about mental health resources. There are also online counseling programs, podcasts, books, and websites with more information that we have included below. Please remember, your mental health matters.
If you are struggling, please reach out and get the help you need.
