Biography
I received my M.A. in Communication from Wichita State University and my Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. My research focuses on sports communication and organizational communication, as well as exploring the role of identity in religion, sports, fantasy sports, and organizational culture. Some of my publications include two books about ESPN and several journal articles about fantasy sports and athlete image repair. I have also published and co-edited three volumes of the textbook Human Communication in Action with Dr. Morgan in our department which is used for the entry level course in Human Communication at NMSU.
For the last twelve years I have taught the mass lecture for NMSUs general education required course in communication, COMM 265G: Principles of Human Communication. I love discussing the roll of communication in everyday life and having the opportunity to discuss this with students. In addition, I also teach Organizational Communication, Leadership, and Sports Communication.
