Welcome to the Center for Communication Skill Development (CCD)
The Center for Communication Skill Development offers students at New Mexico State University individualized and group tutoring for communication skill development and course assignments. Students can visit the CCD for assistance with the following:
- Speech preparation for academic and professional contexts
- Help with managing speech anxiety
- Help with writing & editing in APA format
- Questions about COMM 1115G and other Communication courses
No appointment necessary! Just come on in!

The CCD will open for Fall Semester on August 26, 2024
What to Bring to the CCD:
- Your assignments/Laptop/iPad
- Any notes/drafts/outlines that you’ve written
- Instructor comments (if applicable)
- Questions about communication studies’ course content (if applicable)
- A CCD slip (available on your Canvas course if you are in COMM1115G!)

About the CCD:
Through the CCD, the Department of Communication Studies graduate teaching assistants offer students individualized and group tutoring with communication skill development and course assignments. Students enrolled in COMM 1115G are especially encouraged to utilize the resources provided by this help center.
