Biography

I received my graduate degree from the Department of Communication Studies at NMSU in 2007 and I have been teaching for the department since 2006. Courses I have taught include introduction to communication studies, organizational communication, small group communication, communication theory, persuasion, leadership and conflict management. I have a true passion for organizational communication and devote much of my time to learning about and teaching best practices in communication effectiveness in the workplace. 

In addition to teaching, I have my own consulting business, BRIGHTideas Consulting Services where I facilitate workshops, lead team building events, and coach employees on communication and leadership skills. I am also a certified mediator, StrengthsFinder® coach, and trainer in Crucial Conversations®, Crucial Accountability® and Emotional Intelligence (EI).  

In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, hiking, traveling, watching live music, and spending time with my family.
