Join us in congratulating Dr. Sangwon Lee, NMSU Communication Studies Assistant Professor, on receiving second place for “Best Political Communication Article of the Year” from the International Communication Association.

“Rethinking the virtuous circle hypothesis on social media: Subjective versus objective knowledge and political participation" was published in “Human Communication Research” in 2022. It received recognition named for Keith R. Sanders and Lynda Lee Kaid. Sanders and Kaid were both distinguished and highly prolific scholars whose work had a lasting impact on the field of political communication research. His article was chosen from hundreds of applications, and awarded second place by a 6-person committee. The award was presented at the division's business meeting in May.
