| I received my M.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso and my Ph.D. in Culture and Health Communication from the University of New Mexico. I teach courses in Culture and Communication, Health Communication, Environmental Communication, Qualitative Research Methods, and Introduction to Communication.
My research focuses on addressing health disparities and social determinants of health, the intersections of health and culture, underrepresented narratives, health promotions, and recently, I have also focused on researching DEI and well as engaging in feminist scholarship. I have worked extensively with local and national health organizations to promote health and health-related issues. |
